2ergo has
appointed John Orlando as Managing Director of 2ergo Americas, with
effect from 1 December. Orlando also serves as Vice Chairman and
Marketing Chair of the Mobile Entertainment Forum Americas, and has
worked with more than 30 mobile network operators in the US and
worldwide. Prior to joining 2ergo, Orlando was Chief Marketing Officer
at mobile personlization and music company, Livewire Mobile.
Velti has named Wilson W. Cheung as its new Chief Financial Officer. He joins Velti from AXT, a NASDAQ-listed semiconductor firm where he has been CFO since 2004. AXT has more than 1,000-employees with operations in the US, Europe and Asia. Prior to AXT, he held senior financial positions at Yahoo! and Interwave Communications. Velti has also appointed Mike Walsh as VP of Business Development, based in London; Dakota Sullivan as Global VP of Marketing, based in San Francisco; and Greg Bauer as VP, US East Mobile Solutions, based in New York.
deCarta, which supplies software and services for the Location-based Services (LBS) industry, has appointmed Brian MacDonald to the role of Vice President, Mobile Business Development. MacDonald will head up deCarta's global mobile business development operations with a dedicated team focused on strategic partnerships with mobile operators.
MacDonald joins deCarta from mywaves, where he was VP, Worldwide Sales and Distribution, selling video content and mobile advertising to mobile operators, both direct, and through OEM channels.
And finally, iome, which provides digital platforms for targeted location-based advertising, discounts and brand marketing, has appointed Chris Burke as Chairman. Burkes previous roles include CTO of Vodafone UK from pre-merger to globalization; CEO of RIM EMEA until February 2009; and Chairman at Ubiquity Software. He has also held advisory roles at VantagePoint Venture Partners and Avaya, and continues to operate on the board of advisors for HP.
