AR Innovation Set for MLOVE Demo

The Japanese companies behind the iButterfly+ app will demo the Augmented Reality app at the MLOVE Confestival in Berlin at the end of June.

Dentsu and Butterfly Corp will present the app the the MLOVE conference to mark the launch of its Android version – it is already available on iOS.

The app is a butterfly-catching game. Users point the phone at the sky, and graphic butterflies are laid over the image of the real world from the camera. Players must centre the butterfly in the screen to capture it.

In Japan, the breed of butterfly you can catch varies depending on where you are in the country – the app uses your GPS location.

The app will be presented by Kei Shimada, MLOVE ambassador to Japan, who helped put together the collaboration between MLOVE, Dentsu and Butterfly Corp. Takeshi Mizukawa, program director, mobile art lab, at Dentsu and Katsutoshi Kitamura, CEO of Butterfly Corp., will join Shimada on the stage.

MLOVE takes place from 29 June – 2 July in Berlin. It is an event that aims to discuss the creative and business potential of the mobile platform.
