Asda has partnered with Zappar to run an AR-enabled Halloween event in 400 of its UK stores on Saturday 26 October.
Shoppers will be prompted to download the Asda app and scan in-store displays to trigger a scavenger hunt presented by seasonal mascot Sir Spook. By finding and scanning trapdoor stickers – encouraging shoppers to more visit areas of the store – and solving riddles in-app, users will receive a free gift and be entered into a competition to win a cash prize.
The event follows the successful formula established by Asdas Easter Egg Hunt earlier this year, which saw 32,000 customer interactions in one day.
“The feedback from shoppers following the Easter events was just fantastic,” said Steph Hughes, head of events marketing at Asda. “Were excited to roll out more fun for parents and kids this Halloween with even more going on in stores.”
