Austrian mobile operator, ONE Gmbh, a member of the worldwide Orange Group, has selected the Roaming Tariff SMS service from Starhome, which provides roaming services and converged solutions.
ONE will use the service to encourage its customers to make better use of their mobile phones while roaming, by providing up-to-date details on their roaming tariffs and maintaining the price transparency.
With the Starhome Roaming Tariff SMS service, ONE gets the location country and network information of its subscribers roaming abroad, in near real-time. Immediately after the first registration in the foreign network, subscribers receive a Push SMS message directly to their mobile with the country/network roaming tariffs according to their billing plan.
ONE is the third largest mobile operator in the highly-saturated Austrian market and has worked with Starhome since 2006. It already deploys a number of Starhome services, including Home Short Code, Global Direct Access and Intelligent Call Assistant.
EU legislation, which came into force in July 2007, reduced the maximum charge that operators could levy for international mobile calls by an initial 30 50%. The legislation also compels operators to provide clear pricing information.
By using the Starhome Roaming Tariff Info service, operators can give customers the information they need to feel that theyre in control of their mobile call spending, thus encouraging greater usage, says Shai Zmigrod, VP Sales, EMEA at Starhome.
