New and used car marketplace Auto Trader has launched a version of its mobile app for Windows Phone devices.

In addition to the Auto Trader’s app’s usual features, including ‘My Garage’, where users can save vehicles of interest; and a car dealer locator, the app also offers a couple of featiures that are exclusive to the Windows Phone version.

The first is a Live Tile feature that enables users to pin saved cars to their home screen. The second is a ‘Tap + Send’ facility that enables users to transfer saved cars and searches between two devices, simply by tapping them together

“With over 3.5m people accessing Auto Trader via their mobile devices every month, we are always striving to expand our mobile offering and provide the best possible experience for our users,” said Auto Trader director of mobile, Nick Gee. “Building a native (Windows Phone) app has allowed us to take advantage of the platforms unique features. Live Tiles is just one example of the personalised experience the new app offers Windows Phone users.”
