Awards Preview – Most Effective Tablet App

Alex Spencer

John Lewis iPad App

Every day between now and the Effective Mobile Marketing Awards Ceremony on 17 November, we will be previewing the finalists in one of the 30 categories. Today, it's the turn of the Most Effective Tablet App category.

John Lewis – John Lewis iPad App
Built in-house, John Lewis' free iPad app extends the usual browsing and shopping functionality, with an 'inspiration area' that can be viewed offline, wish lists, side-by-side product comparison and the ability to make purchases directly from the retailer's catalogues. The app has been downloaded over 380,000 times and has an average user rating of 4.5 on the App Store.

Nimbletank – Forscene: Touch-First Video Editing
Cloud-based video post-production platform Forscene was given a mobile overhaul to address softening user satisfaction and increasingly hot competition. Building from the smallest screen up, Nimbletank created an iOS native and web app which has seen record demand for Forscene.

Nimbletank – Kobalt: The Future Of Music
The Kobalt app enables music creators and artists to see where their money is being made, down to the performance of individual songs, type of song, rights or country, all in real time. Since its launch, the app has smashed all its KPIs, and received rave reviews, both from the music press, and the artists themselves, with Jonny Quinn of Snow Patrol and Gary Go, producer and songwriter for Rihanna and other artists, among those heaping praise on it. And despite the huge amount of data it allows artists to access, it’s very easy and intuitive to use.

Our winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in London on 17 November. To book a seat or table, head for the Awards website or call John Owen on 07769 674824.
