Awards Shortlist Revealed

Vantage Conferences. organisers of the mobilemarketing awards 08,  which are run in association with Vodafone and Yahoo!, has announced the short-listed for this years awards.
The list includes a mix of creative, media, digital agencies and media owners reflecting the diverse range of businesses who are now using mobile as a marketing tool. The shortlisted companies are Aerodeon, Angel, BBH, Blyk, Dara Digital, Emap, Frukt Music, Marvellous, MindMatics, Mindshare Interaction, Mobile Interactive Group, Nokia Ad Business (formerly Enpocket) & i-movo, Profero, Rivers Run Red, Shake Interactive, Sponge and Zygo.
The short-listed campaigns are for brands ranging from Guinness to Pepsi, from the FT to the Daily Mail and from the O2 to Carphone Warehouse.
Reflecting on the 08 Award entries, the chairman of the judges – David Wheldon – Global Director of Brand at Vodafone says:
When we launched the awards in 2005, we saw a number of small brands trying out the channel for the first time with pretty rudimentary campaigns. It was encouraging, but clearly there was some way to go. This year, the 8- plus award entries came from some of the worlds biggest brands and the campaigns were multi-faceted and sophisticated. Mobile is now very much part of the marketing mix.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 6 March at The Bloomsbury Ballroom in London. The winners will be announced in 13 categories, including Agency of the Year and Grand Prix which will be voted for on the night by those attending. s. In 2007, the Grand Prix winner was Peugeot.
Yahoo! is currently showcasing the outstanding and award-winning work from the 2005 and 2006 awards at media.yahoo.co.uk . The short-listed entries for the 08 awards will be available for review from w/c 11th February 2008 and the winners, following the awards ceremony.
