BBM Money in Indonesia Registers 60k in 3 Months

The peer-to-peer payments service provided by Monitise on the Blackberry platform has registered 60,000 users in its launch country so far.

Blackberry launched the service in Indonesia in February with Permata Bank and hopes to get some 200,000 users by the end of the year. With Blackberry the number one selling smartphone, making up more than half of the smart handsets, the number seems a little modest in a country of nearly 250m people.

BBM Money gives BlackBerry Messenger customers in Indonesia the ability to instantly create, access and make real-time payments to their BBM contacts from their Mobile Money account.
