Become Asia’s Next Digital Rock Star Bank Manager

Prudential in Asia has launched its latest tool to help children across the region learn how to manage their finances. The Cha-Ching Band Manager app is a free English-language game on iOS and Android that let’s kids run a band, create tracks and take tough financial decisions along the way. Not exactly a career that equates itself with being financially stable…

When the band plays well, players earn more money and work their way up the showbiz ladder. The game also challenges musical ability, Guitar Hero-style, with tracks that the player has to tap the screen along to. It was created by the Prudence Foundation, Prudential Corporation Asia’s charitable arm as part of its Cha-Ching Saver game series.

How was it?

After downloading the app and trying to register, I was sent out to the Cartoon Network’s website, which was particularly terrible to use on a smartphone. After creating my profile (lying about my age in order to be young enough to play!), I still found it impossible to register so entered the app as a guest.

Creating a track is a bit too intricate to do on a small screen with my huge adult hands and the controls werent exactly self explanatory, but I guess its a nice way to try and get kids interested in managing their money.

Dont give up your day job!
