Blippar Makes Up Maybelline Print Ads

US cosmetics brand Maybelline New York has partnered with Blippar for an Augmented Reality campaign advertising the launch of its Color Show Nail Lacquer product.

Maybelline print ads, appearing in fashion and beauty publications from this week, can be scanned using the Blippar app to access interactive overlaid content which lets users see what their nails would look like in each of the 40 different shades in the Color Show range.

“We think our consumers are going to love the ability Blippar gives them to engage with our beauty products before they purchase,” says Maybelline New York vice president of marketing Ali Goldstein. “There’s no other way for people to experience our products like this so it really is an innovation that brings something new to our consumers’ lives.”

Users will also be able to share a picture of their virtual nails to share on Facebook, Twitter, or via email.
