BMW and Amobee Create i Series iPad Ad Campaign

BMW has worked with Amobee and Universal McCann to create a rich media ad unit for its i series of cars which enables viewers to get right under the bonnet.

You can look at the i8 from any angle in the virtual showroom and then disassemble it to get a good look at its carbon fibre frame. As there were only two prototypes of the car in existence at the time, BMW wanted to be able to give people a feel for what the car would be like.

The BMW i Immersive Ad is featured in the IABs Tablet Creative Showcase. Joe Laszlo, senior director of Mobile Marketing Centre of Excellence at IAB, said: “What I think is cool about the BMW spot is that it exemplifies a strong digital magazine ad execution. It looks like a glossy full page ad, and conveys a message even if the viewer doesn’t interact with it. But at the same time it has just enough animation and interactivity to make it dynamic and interesting.”
