Bridgewater Systems, the mobile personalization company, has revealed that Taiwanese 4G operator Global Mobile is deploying the Bridgewater Service Controller and Policy Controller to deliver mobile multimedia services to consumers and enterprises. The solutions are being delivered in collaboration with CommVerge Solutions, a network services company operating in the Asia Pacific region.    
Global Mobile is deploying Bridgewaters WiMAX solutions in the northern region of Taiwan to deliver services such as mobile Internet, Mobile TV, interactive media services, digital audio, and mobile advertising. The company plans to launch commercial services in the Hsinchu area before the end of 2009, and extend coverage to the Taipei area in 2010.
Bridgewater says its WiMAX solutions are enabling Global Mobile to rapidly launch services through over-the-air provisioning of subscribers, devices, and on-demand service models. This gives subscribers the freedom to activate their subscription at their own convenience and select plan features and applications without having to visit a store or call customer service.
Global Mobile can also deliver innovative, personalized services, including casual usage based on time or volume, such as day passes for a new application, prepaid services, and applications that can be personalized based on the subscribers location, context or usage.  
Finally, says Bridgewater, the solutions will enable the operator to reduce operating costs by eliminating the need for customer service representatives to manually activate service, devices and firmware updates.
The Bridgewater Service Controller authorizes and authenticates subscribers and provides critical accounting functions. It is fully compliant with the WiMAX Network Working Group Stage 3 specification.
The Bridgewater Policy Controller is a policy decision function that provides real-time network, application and subscriber policies to personalize services and manage mobile data growth. It also enables over the air provisioning and on-demand services.
Bridgewaters Subscriber Data Broker is a subscriber data management product that unifies subscriber information, including service entitlements, devices, networks, billing profiles, preferences and context, and provides the tools to broker this data to systems and applications.
