Buongiorno Powers Free Beer Barcode

Buongiorno has revealed that it was behind the successful delivery of a promotional mobile SMS barcode system at this years V Festival in Chelmsford and Stafford, UK.
The system, delivered by Buongiorno Marketing Services in conjunction with ActiveMedia, allowed Virgin Mobile users access to their own VIP area, the Virgin Mobile Union Garden, clean toilets, and free Strongbow. The initiative, now in its fourth year in collaboration with Buongiorno Marketing Services, saw 6,000 redemptions over the 2 day period this year – equating to 12,000 beers.
Virgin Mobile users, following receipt of a barcode via SMS text, would be admitted entrance and given food and drink tokens, providing the Virgin Mobile Angels could successfully scan the barcode, which was dependent upon whether it had already been used and had therefore expired. Buongiorno Marketing Services were responsible for managing the redemption process, the hardware and the application by way of delivering coupons via SMS, and the validation process.
The V Festival has now run annually for 13 years, proving the success of the event, says Virgin Mobile Sponsorship, Paul Shulver.
