Canada Overtakes UK in Mobile Barcode Use

Mobile barcode use has grown by 20 per cent around the world between Q2 and Q3 of this year, according to numbers from mobile barcode solutions company 3GVision.

In its Q3 2011 report, the UK has slipped from 3rd to 4th in 3GVisions stats, overtaken by Canada, who move up from 5th. 

The company says barcode use in the US has grown 42.1, and 35.1 per cent in Canada, in the quarter. 

Spain (66.5 per cent), the Czech Republic (65.6 per cent, and Australia (50.9 per cent) were the other markets to grow significantly. 

The figures exclude Japan, which is way ahead of the rest of the world in terms of consumer use of mobile barcodes.
