Cancer Research has launched its first iPhone app, Heels-n-Wheels, created by digital agency Juicy, to coincide with its annual Race for Life series.
Launched as a viral game last year, Heels ‘n’ Wheels was successful in helping to raise awareness of the women-only fundraising series and the charity says it hopes the iPhone app will maintain the momentum.
In the The Heels ‘n’ Wheels game, players drive a camper van along a route which is strewn with obstacles to avoid. Players must collect Race for Life team members and raise as much sponsorship cash as they can for Cancer Research UK. Juicy, a UK digital agency, provided its expertise in developing the app free-of-charge to Cancer Research UK.
Heels ‘n’ Wheels is available from the Apple App Store for £1.19. All proceeds from the game go directly to support Cancer Research UK’s lifesaving work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
There are over 230 Race for Life events across the UK with women of all ages, shapes and fitness levels invited to walk, jog or run 5k to raise money to help beat cancer. There’s more information here.
