Candy Crush Saga Publisher King Files for $500m IPO

candycrush-ipadMobile game developer King Digital Entertainment has filed for an IPO with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

“The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined,” reads Kings statement on the filing. However, the filed F-1 form identifies its proposed maximum aggregate offering price at $500m (£300m).

King is best known as the developer behind Candy Crush Saga, which the filing says attracts 93m DAUs (Daily Active Users). The company also offers six other Saga-branded games, though these are significantly less popular – the second biggest, Pet Rescue Saga, has 15m DAUs.

In 2013, King reported revenues of $1.9bn – an incredible 1,046 per cent growth over $164.4m in 2012 – and profits of $567.5m.
