CCC Opens MirrorLink Car Connectivity Technology Centre in China

Mirrorlink.pngThe Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), an organization driving global technologies for smartphone-centric car connectivity solutions, has partnered with the Southern Branch of CTTL/CAICT to open the MirrorLink Car Connectivity Technology Centre in Shenzhen, China. The Technology Centre will provide Chinese market support to continue to build MirrorLink as the technology of choice for providing easy connectivity solutions for the local auto and handset industries throughout China.

“CTTL/CAICT has several research teams tracking and investigating the development and application of car connectivity related technology,” said Xiao Li, head of CTTL Southern Branch. “As the result of this collaboration, full technical support will be provided to both auto OEMs and smart phone device vendors. This will also effectively move forward the innovation and application of MirrorLink technology in China.”

China is universally recognized as one of the most important markets for smartphone/automotive integration. The size of the local market, the number of handset and auto makers, and huge community of application developers make China a key market for MirrorLink.

MirrorLink bring smartphone content to the car’s dashboard, using large icons. It is currently the only OS- and OEM-agnostic standard for car-smartphone connectivity, where no single entity has a controlling stake.
