Celtic FC Brings Wi-fi and App to Fans

Celtic Park, the 60,832-seat home ground of Celtic FC, has gained high-density wi-fi capacity, through a collaboration with Sports Revolution and Cisco Systems.

The wi-fi will be available throughout the stadium, including its corporate facilities, concourses and stadium bowl seats. Celtic Park is the latest UK football ground to install wi-fi in an effort to combat the issues with mobile connectivity and internet access previously experienced by fans on match day.

“We are committed to delivering match-day experiences of the highest standard for our supporters and commercial partners and that requires us to be at the forefront of developing technology,” said Peter Lawell, CEO of Celtic FC. “Our partnership with Sports Revolution and Cisco means we will be developing our services with the best in the business and that the match day experience at Celtic Park will be second to none.”

Sports Revolution is also working with Celtic on an app, CelticLive, built on its StadiumLive platform. The app, which will be available early in the 2013/14 season, is set to offer a range of content to fans in attendance at games, taking advantage of the newly installed wi-fi connectivity.
