Adding to the wealth of devices already on offer to monitor sleep, including JawBone UP24 and iOS app SleepCycle, Sleep Number has gone that bit further with the launch of the x12 smart bed.
The company’s touch-free technology monitors your presence in bed, breathing rate and heart rate. An algorithm then scores the overall quality of your sleep, with trends built up over time in a sleep journal.
Users can use the information generated to adjust sleeping positions or alter their habits and can even move their partners headrest during sleep to reduce snoring.
