Champneys Spa Gets Mobile Site

UK spa brand Champneys has partnered with Usablenet to launch a mobile site.

The move was prompted by a jump in mobile visits, which doubled over the previous year, to account for 27 per cent of all traffic to its site.

“As we have seen a significant increase in customers making bookings through mobile phones and tablets, we realised it was imperative to evaluate our mobile presence,” said Alex de Carvalho, Managing Director of Champneys. “It is vital that we ensure all Champneys’ customers have a relaxing experience at every stage of their spa stay, including booking. We chose Usablenet for its proven track record with mobile engagement for luxury brands, and so far the results have paid off in spades.”

The mobile site was apparently built around a streamlined reservations process – though there is no actual transactional functionality, relying on users calling their local spa themselves, without even integrating a click-to-call function.
