China Unicom has partnered with mobile technology company Syniverse to deploy a range of Syniverse solutions. 

The Chinese mobile operator has taken on Syniverse technologies including the companys next-generation IP-based network and SCCP Signaling Gateway; real-time intelligence tools RoamMonitor, Visibility Services and VisProactive; and roaming solutions Financial Clearing House and Syniverse DataNet. 

Syniverse says that this combination of solutions enhances user experience for China Unicom subscribers and helps the operator prepare to transition from 3G to 4G.
