Chinas 3G Rollout Analysed

Following months of speculation, China recently awarded 3G licenses to its three mobile operators. China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom are expected to launch their first commercial nationwide 3G networks later this year in what is set to be one of the world's largest ever rollouts of 3G technology.
The news is analysed in the latest edition of Wireless Intelligence's Snapshot weekly media intelligence service, which features exclusive analysis of China's 3G rollout and includes full 2G and 3G subscriber forecasts for all three mobile operators through to 2010. Wireless Intelligence predicts that total 3G connections in China will reach 16.2 million by the end of 2010, accounting for around 2% of total mobile connections in the country.
