DIY mobile website platform DudaMobile has teamed up with Google to run an event in the city of Mobile, Alabama.
Closing today ,the Mobilizing Mobile event is part of GoMo, Googles initiative to help businesses embrace the mobile web.
DudaMobile is running a series of workships and Mobilizing Jam Sessions designed to provide participants with the tools to enhance their brands mobile presence and attract new customers via mobile.
“Collaborating with Google on the GoMo initiative is a continuation of our goals to provide small business owners with the tools, expertise, and assistance that they need to stay competitive,” says Itai Sadan, co-founder and CEO of DudaMobile. “A mobile friendly website is a must for any business. Through our platform, we hope that the business owners we help in Alabama will walk away from this experience with a better understanding of the mobile web, and how their businesses can benefit from the growing mobile marketplace.”
In preparation, DudaMobile had been working with businesses who pre-registered for the event in the aptly named city in Alabama, and also teaching students at the University of South Alabama, and local web-development businesses.
“When we were first approached by Google to help them mobilise the city of Mobile, we agreed that it was important to train local web developers and students on how to build mobile websites,” says Dennis Mink, VP of marketing for DudaMobile. “With Mobile, AL having thousands of businesses in need of a mobile website, we want to empower the developers and students to carry on the work of mobilising Mobile long after we are gone.”
