Mobile classified ad network Mobiya has revealed that it has been chosen as a finalist for the Red Herring 100 Europe award, which is given to the top 100 private technology companies based in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region each year.
Mobiya is one of 13 companies in the mobile space to make the shortlist of 200 companies. Others include aquaMobile, BLUE LION mobile, MoBank, Mobilegov, Mobiletech, MobiLuck, MoMac, Momail, Purple Labs, Refresh Mobile, Starhome, and Zygo Communications
Mobiyas mobile classified service is available to 70 million people in the UK and Belgium, only 18 months after start-up, notes Mobiya CEO and Co-founder, Martin Davis. Red Herring will honour the Red Herring 100 Europe Finalist companies at its Red Herring Europe 2008 event, which takes place from 14 – 16 April at the Westin Dragonara Resort, Malta. The three-day event is themed The Pursuit of Disruption and will explore how European firms are leading within many technology sectors, gaining the competitive advantage, and driving entrepreneurial success in ways that create business opportunities for challengers and incumbents alike.
