LinkedIn has revealed the 10 most in-demand job skills from employers on its network, with cloud and distributed computing topping the global list for the second year running.

In second place is statistical analysis and data mining, while web architecture and development framework has jumped six places to take third place. User interface design is also a big climber, up five places to fifth.

Mobile development has dropped, however, from sixth to seventh, and SEO/SEM marketing fell five places to ninth.

“While marketing skills like marketing campaign management, SEO/SEM, and channel marketing were in high demand in 2015, things have changed,” said Catherine Fisher, senior director or member marketing & communications at LinkedIn. “Demand for marketing skills is slowing because the supply of people with marketing skills has caught up with employers’ demand for people with marketing skills.”

The situation is a little different in the UK, with Statistical analysis and data mining taking the top spot followed by middleware and integration software – the same positions that each held last year.

Mobile development is also on the up within the UK, from sixth to fifth place, and continues to hold the third spot in the US.
