Cnectd Achieves 500,000 Downloads in a Week on GetJar

GetJar, which recently celebrated its 1 billionth download, has revealed that Cnectd, an IM (Instant Messaging) client app that works on iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Symbian handsets, has achieved over half a million downloads in under a week using GetJar’s App Download Page (ADP) solution. This makes Cnectd one of the fastest, most-downloaded apps on Getjar since Facebook. Facebook achieved over 50m downloads in six months using ADP – and currently continues to generate over 5m downloads per month.

(ADP) enables users to download an app to their phone in one click.  It provides the publisher with a single destination to tell consumers where to get their app or access their site, regardless of the users’ handset type. phone make and model.

GetJar has automated the ADP process, so that every app uploaded to GetJar automatically gets its own ADP url in the form of http://getjar.com/appname. Publishers can then promote this URL in any way they. Cnectd placed all versions of its app on GetJar and promoted the ADP link to consumers through its website and Twitter, generating a strong viral effect.

“We are thrilled that our app has become an overnight sensation,” says Lawrence Bernard, head of marketing at Cnectd. “ADP was really easy to use and set up. Once we uploaded our apps, we received our unique URL automatically and then simply promoted it far and wide to consumers. The advantage for us was being able to send all our users directly to one place, regardless of whether they were using an iPhone, Blackberry, Android or Symbian handset.”
