Viacom channel Comedy Central has launched CC: Stand-Up, a free iOS app featuring 6,000 videos of stand-up comedy routines.
As well as watching videos from 700 comedians, the app enables users to discover new material through the Six Degrees of Stand-Up feature, which provides a web of comedians linked by style, topic or relationship. There are also user- and

Stand-Up is ad-supported, with Axe acting as launch sponsor in order to promote its Face product, which is pushed through a branded Laugh Your Face Off playlist.
“At its simplest, CC: Stand-Up is a digitally-distributed pure stand-up channel, in which fans can immerse themselves for hours with just one touch,” said Erik Flannigan, EVP multi-platform strategy & development at Viacom. “Layered onto that is an intuitive on-demand and recommendation platform, which makes the discovery of new comedians something fun to explore. It’s got the whole ‘lean forward, lean back’ thing people always talk about, only for real.”
