Compuware has launched a free, cloud-based platform to help developers understand and manage native app performance.
The Mobile Application Monitoring solution combines crash, performance and business analytics for iOS and Android apps into a single dashboard. After integrating Compuwares development kit into their apps, organisations can see who is using them, understand performance by device and browser, know the impact of signal strength, battery charge and memory, all with integrated crash detection and diagnostics.
Developers will be to identify critical information about when their apps crash, including geographic location, other running applications and the specific line of code where the problem occurred. They can also see look at detailed trending reports over time.
“The importance of mobile apps as a revenue source has skyrocketed over the past year, with mobile sales accounting for 16 per cent of all online shopping in 2012, up from 9.8 per cent in 2011,” said Benjamin Grubin, Director, Product Marketing at Compuware. “Mobile app sales and in-app purchasing has also become a key revenue source across multiple industries—and it doesnt take many bad reviews to permanently damage a mobile app or brand. So its clear that finding and fixing performance or crashing problems quickly is absolutely critical.”
