Compuware Updates Gomez App Analytics

Compuware has updated its Compuware Gomez platform – an integrated application performance management (APM) solution.

The Gomez Fall 2011 Platform Release introduces deepened collaboration with Google and Google Mobile Page Speed integration, enhancements to the platforms end-user experience performance analytics, and application visibility and diagnostics via integration with the companys dynaTrace tools.

The company is claiming a number of “industry firsts” with this release, including Gomez Mobile Real-User Monitoring (RUM) conversion analytics. This enables organisations to understand the relationship between performance and customer conversions for native mobile applications, says Compuware, and allows Gomez users to gain insight into how phone characteristics such as signal strength, memory, and battery charge impact mobile native application response time.

The company has also enhanced its synthetic monitoring network. Gomezs Mobile Testing Network now includes 29 global locations and supports more than 5,000 device profiles.

Support for adaptive streaming means users can now optimise their streaming media content, with measurement and optimisation tools that include support for Adobe Flash Dynamic Streaming, and Microsoft Silverlight Smooth Streaming.

The tie-in with DynaTrace gives code-level analysis of app performance and problem root cause analysis. This includes an Operations Dashboard for identifying and monitoring poor performance, and 360º Web Load Testing that helps users solve load-time problems.

The solution also offers new analysis visualisation tools, including a user satisfaction map, and tools that correlate network performance with app performance.

“Businesses today depend on high-performing applications to drive revenues, customer satisfaction and brand equity, so the need to optimise application performance is greater than ever,” says Bruce Reading, SVP and general manager of Compuwares APM business unit. “In this new release, we continue to meet this demand by providing our customers with unbeatable insight into application performance across the entire application delivery chain.”
