Comviva and Inmobia in African Push

Comviva has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Inmobia, which provides technology platforms and content for mobile operators, to provide a ringback tone (RBT) content portfolio in Africa for Comviva’s RBT platform. Comviva’s RBT platform enables operators to provide its subscribers with a wide range of personalized mobile music applications.

Comviva delivers a range of applications – both home-grown and third party – that engage subscribers and provide convenience, entertainment and information services, whilst also addressing operator goals of accelerating revenue growth.

Comviva’s RBT solution has been deployed by more than 20 operators across the globe, with one operator attracting 13m subscribers to the service. The solution is handset- and SIM-independent, and is available to all subscribers, whether pre-paid, post-paid, fixed or wireless.

“Among the varied portfolio of mobile music offerings, ringback tones have achieved killer application status with mobile subscribers in many markets worldwide,” says Comviva CEO, Manoranjan Mohapatra. “RBT constantly evolves, creating long-term customer stickiness, and providing a sustainable revenue stream for operators. Comviva’s RBT has enjoyed enormous success with operators across geographies, and we are confident of replicating this success in Africa.”
