Comviva Strikes Bangladeshi Content Deals

Value Added Services company Comviva is to bring mobile content to Bangladeshi mobile subscribers, thanks to deals with leading Bangladeshi content companies. The company has announced partnerships with music labels GTech and Sangeeta to extend its portfolio of ringback tones (RBTs). 

Milind Pathak, Comvivas VP for S. Asia, says: “Music is one application that has proved to be a major success with subscribers globally, with subscribers embracing various music-based services such as ringback tones. Comviva has deep relationships with the content partner ecosystem within Bangladesh and has been managing it successfully for past several months to meet customer needs. We now work with all the leading content providers and are able to provide and manage not only local but also international labels. We also plan to replicate our content management solution in Bangladesh.”

Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan, proprietor of GTech, says: “Bangladesh is quickly growing into a mobile powerhouse. With an increasing number of mobile subscribers, there is a massive demand for mobile content. Although full-track downloads and music streaming are set to experience the sharpest growth, ringtones and ringback tones are expected to remain the largest revenue generator.”

Salim Khan, proprietor at Sangeeta, says: “We are excited to be working with Comviva for the mobile content services for their RBT services and serve operators in Bangladesh. Sangeetas library of ringtones includes the popular rock bands of Bangladesh, albums of prominent and popular artists, latest bands, solo artists and movie music.”
