A leading South American airline has launched a mobile website and boarding pass solution.
Provided by connectivity technology company NCR, Copa Airlines new mobile solution allows travellers to bypass check-in counters at airports and proceed straight to security, thanks to a mobile electronic boarding pass.
Customers can also check the status of flights using the companys new mobile-optimised website.
NCR already provides self-service kiosks for the airlines check-in services.
“The launch of m.copaair.com puts Copa Airlines in the forefront of airline mobile web services in Latin America,” says Diana Mizrachi-Kopel, director of customer experience for Copa Airlines. “This technology contributes to our goal of continuous enhancement of the customer travel experience, giving passengers practical tools to make their travel more convenient and hassle-free. Based on positive customer feedback and higher than expected initial usage, we are well on our way to reaching that goal.”
Since deploying the solutions – called NCR mobi-web and NCR mobi-pass – in April, customer usage has steadily increased and Copa expects that usage numbers will continue to climb.
“Extending check-in to mobile underscores Copas focus on providing superior customer service to travellers who increasingly want greater convenience and control over their journey,” said Owen Wild, vice president of marketing, NCR Travel. “With the most widely deployed mobile check-in application worldwide, NCR is committed to helping Copa smoothly and seamlessly deliver the best self-service experience to its customers.”
