Corona launches first original series out of new content studio

Corona – the beer brand, not the virus – has launched its own content studio, and the first original series out of it, as it looks to inspire people to enjoy the outdoors where its lager is often linked to.

The eight-part digital content series, called ‘Free Range Humans’, celebrates people who chose to change the way they live their lives, leaving behind their previous careers to take up more nature-focused ventures, including public relations associate turned surf instructor Bruna Bessa, Cambridge-trained architect turned ocean advocate Emily Penn, South Africa’s first black freediving instructor Zandile Ndhlovu, and more.

“This is not just another travel series. With the events of this year, we know that people around the world are increasingly appreciative of the outside and pondering what an alternative life could look like. This series was developed to give new, first-hand inspiration on what that could look like once the lockdowns subside” said Felipe Ambra, Global Corona VP. “The people we are celebrating are an embodiment of the Corona lifestyle and we hope can serve as motivation for others to pursue a fulfilling life in and around the natural world when they are able to.”

The series, which can be viewed on Corona’ YouTube channel and other social platforms, has been produced by Corona Studios. The content studio will operate under Anheuser Busch (AB) InBev, which is responsible for the brand outside of the US.

Corona worked with Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam to come up with the concept of the series; Pereira O’Dell, which developed and produced the series; and Rocket Film, which shot the series.
