Country Life butter has launched a free, picnic-focused interactive iPhone app. Supporting real-time updates, Great British Picnics is a complete guide to British picnicking and is available now via iTunes.

The app enables users to search more than 600 picnic spots across England, Scotland and Wales, including the Country Life top 30 selected Gold spots. People can rate the spots theyve been to, save their favourites, or upload their own picnic spot and review to share with the app community. There are also more than 30 step-by-step picnic recipes as well as a picnic planner.

A 3D view enables app users to see messages, photos and tips left by other picnickers, in exactly the place they left them. App users can move the camera around their location until they find one and also leave their own messages.

Users can also check the weather, tap into the picnic planner menu and use the Country Life Farm Shop Finder with information provided by the National Farmers Retail and Markets Association (FARMA) on the freshest, local ingredients available. For travel details, Google maps API and satellite navigation are also integrated into the app.
