Online travel agency Travelocity has updated its iPhone app to version 4.9, adding credit card scan functionality, enabling users to capture the card details using the devices camera, and then use it to auto-fill payment forms.
The functionality was first introduced in the Hotel Deals app from sister site Lastminute.com, but Travelocity says the feature has been improved for this update, adding the ability to captures the cards expiration date as well as card number. 
“Through customer feedback on the Lastminute.com app, we know that the credit card scanning feature is an added convenience for the on-the-go traveler who relies on our apps to make life a little easier on the road,” said Kelly Mulroney, Travelocitys vice president of product. “We look forward to introducing other features, not only to the iPhone app, but to our entire suite of mobile products throughout the rest of the year.”
