Criteo, TapCommerce and ActionX have teamed up with contributors from Flurry and MoPub to form the Mobile Deeplinking project.
The initiative hopes to improve industry practices for deeplinking – sending a user directly to a particular screen or action within an app – by providing developers and publishers with a specification that they can use in their apps. iOS and Android are supported initially, with Windows slated for later this year.
The Mobile Deeplinking site contains documentation, sample code, and dev kits for creating cross-media user experiences and marketing campaigns.
“With the acquisition of Ad-X Tracking, Criteo quickly recognised the issues with current deep-linking specifications,” said Jason Morse, VP Mobile, Criteo. “By providing a set of guidelines, tools and source code we believe app developers will be able to enhance the user experience and increase app engagement.”
