Crittercism App Performance Platform gets $12m

Crittercism, a performance management platform for app developers, has raised $12m in a series B round of investment led by Google Ventures.

Shasta Ventures and Opus Capital, who provided seed financing and series A funding, also joined the round. The company, which has raised total capital of around $19m (£12.7m), has extended its offer from standard crash reporting to real-time analytics on load performance, system logs, handled exceptions and transaction tracing. The platform helps small and large devs offload performance monitoring and reduce app improvement costs.

Crittercism is already working with Netflix, LinkedIn and AT&T, and says it is being used by apps that are live on 500m devices. It will now begin to focus on big data. Google Ventures general partner Wesley Chan will be joining the San Francisco-based start-up’s board.
