Cable & Wireless Panama has announced that it is upgrading its mobile network to 4G. The company, which operates under the +Movil brand name in Panama, says it will begin nationwide introduction of High Speed Packet Access plus (HSPA+) technology in September.
4G is being introduced as part of a major network upgrade programme which will also deliver faster internet browsing for all mobile customers, better network coverage and additional capacity to support increasing demand for mobile data, says the company.
“4G mobile services will deliver much faster mobile data download speeds for Panamanians enabling them to enjoy higher bandwidth services like video and mobile gaming,” says the company in a brief statement. “They will also facilitate the growth of mobile broadband in the country, enabling Panamanians to access the internet through laptops and tablets in far more locations.”
