Sports streaming platform DAZN arrives on Comcast

DAZN is now available to Comcast customersSports streaming service DAZN has penned its first distribution deal with a major US video and internet provider as part of a new partnership program aimed at collaborating with cable, satellite, mobile, and internet providers around the world. This first partnership is with Comcast, bringing the DAZN platform to Xfinity Flex customers.

With the DAZN for Operators initiative, the sports streaming service hopes to make its offering more accessible to sports fans globally. The Comcast tie-up will also see the platform become available on Xfinity X1 in the coming months.

“DAZN for Operators is our new partnership program, in which we collaborate with the world’s leading pay TV operators, ISPs and mobile carriers to make the live sports experience even more accessible and better to watch for fans,” said Ben King, SVP of global distribution and business development at DAZN. “We couldn’t think of a better inaugural partner than Comcast.”

DAZN and Comcast are promising to make DAZN’s content more deeply integrated within the X1 and Flex experiences later this year by including direct access within the sports hub and the ability to call up a specific program with the Xfinity Voice Remote.

The partnership announcement, which comes a year after DAZN launched in the US market, comes ahead of DAZN’s big schedule of combat sport events over the next few months, including Gennady Golovkin vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Bellator 232, Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev, KSI vs. Logan Paul II, and Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua II.
