Debenhams is Best Mobile Retailer in the UK

Debenhams is the best mobile commerce store in the UK, according to a benchmark assessment by EpiServer looking at the customer expectations of the apps and sites of IMRGs top 30 retailers.

Debenhams scored 90 per cent, followed by Expedia and Argos, both with 85 per cent. Tesco and Amazon came next, both with scores of 80 per cent, with IKEA at 74 per cent and ASOS at 72 per cent.

John Lewis and Topshop receieved 71 per cent and ASDA rounded out the top 10 with a score of 68 per cent. The average score was 55 per cent, an increase of 8 per cent on the previous year. The number of retailers now offering a mobile optimised site has increased from 70 per cent to 83 per cent.

The Mobile Commerce: What Consumers Really Want report compared the stores mobile assets against a detailed best practice benchmark informed by the current consumer attitudes of 1,000 adults.

“It is clear that over the last two years retailers have striven to grasp the mobile opportunity,” said David Bowen, product manager at EPiServer. “Top performer Debenhams in particular is a great example of how having a solution for each platform and offering a contextualised mobile experience across each is the winning formula for delivering a premium customer experience, and ultimately increasing conversions and sales.”
