Desjardins Launching NFC Payments App with EnStream and Monitise

Canadian co-operative financial group Desjardins has partnered with EnStream, a mobile payments joint venture between Rogers, Telus and Bell, the countrys three biggest MNOs.
The partnership will see Desjardins launch an app enabling its members and clients to make purchases at Canadian retailers using NFC.
The app, which will be powered by Monitise, is set for a 2014 launch. 
“We are pleased to soon be able to offer our members and clients a mobile payment solution that is not only reliable and efficient, but also very accessible, because it will be supported by several mobile telephone providers,” said Patrice Dagenais, vice-president of payment solutions and business partnerships at Desjardins.
