DiGi Ties Up with GetJar

Malaysian telco DiGi is partnering with independent app store GetJar to offer its customers easy access to GetJar’s library of more than 70,000 free mobile applications via a GetJar-branded app  store link.

“It’s important for us at DiGi to deliver excellent customer experience at every touch point, and this includes offering rich and relevant applications that suit (customers’) varied lifestyle,” says DiGi head of marketing, Albern Murty. “We partnered with GetJar because of their vast experience in offering an open application catalog that is supported by any device and platform, making it easy for our customers to use and enjoy.”

DiGi customers will have access to applications ranging from games, social networking, sports, entertainment and productivity applications. Popular apps such as Facebook Mobile, Yahoo!, Opera Mini, and Nimbuzz can be downloaded to over 2,200 handsets across all major platforms, including smartphones and feature phones.

DiGi joins other companies already using GetJar’s open app store approach, including Sprint, LG, Sony Ericsson, 3UK, The Carphone Warehouse and Virgin Mobile France. GetJar offers both branded and white-label solutions.
