Hyperlocal recommendation app DrinkAdvisor has raised $3m (£1.9m) in seed funding and launched a version of its app for the Apple Watch. The app helps users find the best bars and cocktails in 10,000 bars and clubs in 210 cities across 70 countries, with review from previous visitors to help users make the right choice.

The app offers search filters for those who know exactly what they want, be it cocktail lounges, dance bars, rooftops, outdoor terraces, karaoke, live jazz, or sport bars. Users are invited to share their opinions on the places they’ve been to, the signature drinks they’ve tried, and the atmosphere they have experienced.

And for those who prefer to make their own at home, the app also contains over 170 cocktail recipes, catalogued by style, flavour, strength, base liquor, or even favourite techniques.
