Disney Honours ‘It’s a Small World’ legacy with new short film

Disney has unveiled a new short film to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the song ‘It’s a Small World’.

The three-minute, 30-second piece, titled “The Last Verse”, was created by the creative agency adam&eveDDB and includes an additional verse of the song composed by the late Richard Sherman.

The film is set to debut on ABC News Studios as part of a two-hour documentary titled ‘The Untold Story of Mary Poppins: A Special Edition of 20/20’.

It is also available for streaming on Disney+, YouTube, and social media platforms.

“As the legendary creators of some of the most cherished music of the past century, the Sherman brothers will be remembered for their profound impact on our global culture,” Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, said.

“Hearing Richard Sherman recite the final verse to ‘It’s a Small World’ before he died will be a moment I will carry with me forever. This beautiful short film is our tribute to their immeasurable musical contributions, their memory, and to the countless memories they helped create for generations of people around the world.
