TomTom has updated its iPhone navigation app to include the voice of Homer Simpson, giving turn-by-turn navigation prompts.
Homers unmistakeable voice is available via in-app purchase when you download or update your existing copy of TomTom for iPhone to version 1.7. The new voice prompts cost an additional £3.49.
The update is the first time a celebrity has voiced a TomTom app in the US. Its also available in various territories around the world. It was developed in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and Locutio Voice Technologies. 
“Homer Simpson is one of the most familiar and fondly recognised cartoon characters on the planet, so to have Homer become uniquely available for our TomTom App for iPhone is really thrilling for us,” says Alain Pakiry, TomToms SVP of marketing.
Version 1.7 of the iPhone app also features the ability to download Speed Camera alerts via another in-app purchase. That update costs £3.49 per month or £22.99 for a years subscription.
