Esteban Ortega may not be a household name right now, but Doritos hope he will be soon as the company launches a mobile and digital marketing campaign led by this fictional Mexican hero.
The chips n dips company has launched Android and iOS games centred around Esteban – The Dip Desperado – in which players must take on the chip-flinging skills of Esteban in a chip-flicking contest.
The campaign was masterminded by creative agency AMV BBDO. The smartphone games are complemented by a Facebook game, a Twitter and Facebook profile campaign in which the Dip Desperado will take over the Doritos pages with “quirky” updates, and a movie ad which is viewable on YouTube here.
