Mobile web solution firm dotMobi has partnered with web hosting and design cloud player Parallels to offer dotMobi’s award-winning goMobi mobile site builder as a “plug and play” solution for 10,000-plus global web services vendors to offer to their millions of customers. goMobi offers a quick, easy and inexpensive way for businesses to create mobile websites on practically any mobile device.
“dotMobi has taken advantage of the Application Packaging Standard (APS) in making goMobi available to the more than 10,000 web services providers and resellers who use the Parallels’ Software as a Service (SaaS) model,” says Eileen OSullivan, chief financial and operating officer at dotMobi. “As a ‘pluggable’ APS application, goMobi is available for simple, rapid deployment by web services providers, who can rapidly increase their revenues by helping businesses ‘goMobi’.”
goMobi takes the form of an easy-to-use web application. Web services providers can offer goMobi directly through their site, and each goMobi account opened is then activated and administered completely via the Parallels platform.
“goMobi gives thousands of Parallels service providers the opportunity to have an out-of-the-box offering that makes it easy for them to take the offering and upsell, resell or bundle mobile websites to reach billions of mobile web users in the global market today,” said John Zanni, VP of marketing and alliances at Parallels.
goMobi websites take advantage of the mobile phone’s unique capabilities such as click-to-call, mapping, location-based services, QR codes and integration with social networks. As Google recently noted, 61 per cent of users make a call to a local business after using a mobile phone to search for services, and the mobile user experience can directly affect a customer’s perception of a business. goMobi also includes device detection so those who access a business desktop site on a mobile device are seamlessly redirected to the goMobi site, where the experience is tailored to their specific handset.
goMobi is designed to function as a fully integrated application within Parallels’ Plesk Panel 10 or directly from dotMobi as an APS application. There’s more information on offering goMobi in a Parallels environment here.
