Dropbox has acquired mobile coupon company Endorse.
Endorse launched in November 2010, initially with a web service – and later iOS and Android apps – which enabled users to claim cashback and rewards on selected purchases.
Curiously, though, the service closed down just over a month ago. Whether this is connected to the acquisition remains to be seen, but the company doesnt look to have any plans to resurrect its apps.
“The Endorse team has been obsessed with developing and scaling innovative mobile applications and changing the way large industries do business,” said Endorse CEO and founder Steven Carpenter. “Just as important as what we’ve been working on, we’ve been similarly passionate about the how – and we purposefully built a team and company culture that values intellectual curiosity, risk taking, teamwork, and customer service.”
