ShurTech Brands, the company behind Duck Tape, has been showing off the lighter side of its products with a social media campaign that has embraced 360-degree video as it tracks two video bloggers taking a journey across the US.

The Ready to Roll campaign follows two Duck Tape brand ambassadors, Alana and Ryan, as they travel to six locations across the US in a branded RV, visiting consumers who have found unique uses for the brands iconic tape.

The trip is being documented across the brands Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts, with 360-degree video filmed at each location to provide those following the journey with an immersive experience.

The locations for the basis for video episodes being uploaded to YouTube throughout August and September, where the two presenters participate in local activities and meet people making use of Duck Tape in extraordinary ways.

The first episode was filmed in Mt. Banker, Washington, featuring snowboarders who use Duck Tape while competing, and includes a 360-degree video of one of the winter sports enthusiasts taking on the resorts Banked Slalom run.

Consumers can also get involved in the campaign using a hashtag on social media, which enters them into a draw to win $5,000 worth of prizes from the company.

The inclusion of 360-degree video in this sort of mobile-first content marketing demonstrates just how widespread the format has becoming, despite only becoming commonly available in the past five years.
