E-Plus Hands Data Transfer Task to Cellbrite

German mobile network operator the E-Plus Group has deployed the UME-36Pro from Cellebrite, which provides mobile phone point of sale (POS) synchronization systems, into 105 stores across Germany. The solution will enable customers to easily transfer personal data from their old device when buying a new mobile phone.
Customers buying a new mobile phone or moving to the E-Plus network will now be able to transfer personal data like their phonebook contacts from an old device to a newly purchased phone at the point of sale. The UME 36 Pro eliminates the need to transfer data manually, and protects customer privacy by securely transferring content, without exposure to store personnel.
UME-36Pro can also offer backup of mobile content to a USB disk drive, PC, website or to a server hosted by the operator. Cellebrite says it is the first and only company that offers a complete POS backup and transfer solution for subscribers by integrating OTA (over the air) systems to the UME-36Pro.
Cellebrite counts more than 80 of the worlds premier network operators and retail chains among its commercial customers. These include T-Mobile, Orange, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and Telstra. Cellebrites forensics customers include national and local divisions of law enforcement, anti-terror and public security units.
Cellebrite says its solutions facilitate return on investment by enabling cellular providers to offer a superior level of service, resulting in improved customer loyalty, increased in-store sales and added value for new customers.
